I’m Colby Otte — the person behind Breakpoint Media. I’ve been working in design since 2007, and full-time independently since 2017.

Before going out on my own, I spent seven years as the Advertising Coordinator and Graphic Designer at King’s Variety Stores — a regional retail chain with 21 locations. I managed print production, ran a Xerox digital press print shop, coordinated advertising across all 21 stores, and presented at company management meetings. That experience gave me a real understanding of what it takes to produce design work at scale, on deadline, and without excuses.

When King’s closed in early 2017, I launched Breakpoint Media and haven’t looked back. Since then I’ve worked with regional publishers, local businesses, tourism organizations, and a handful of clients who needed something most designers can’t do — like a 24×36 illustrated wall map.

I work remotely from Burley, Idaho. Most of my clients are in Southern Idaho and Northern Utah, but the nature of the work means I can collaborate with just about anyone. If you need something designed — for print, the web, or something more unusual — I’m happy to talk through it.
